If the item is 'out of stock' we've either got more stock arriving or can source the product from our supplier. The item will be placed on back order and sent to you within a designated delivery time.

Dimmable refers to the ability to adjust a light's brightness to create the desired ambiance or save energy. Some LEDs lamps and downlights aren't dimmable. Dimmable LEDs require an LED compatible dimmer switch.

A narrow beam angle of 25 degrees will provide a more focused and intense light. Ideal for illuminating specific objects like picture frames on a track lighting system.

A medium beam angle of 40 degrees will provide an even spread of light with a decent intensity. Ideal for smaller rooms like bathrooms.

A wider 60 degree beam can allow you to space downlights further apart, especially when you've got brighter LEDs. Wider downlight distances = fewer downlights which saves money especially in larger rooms like lounges.

If you're replacing existing downlights, measure the existing holes and ensure your new downlights will fit. 

We also have hole converter plates and concealer rings available for extra large holes.

Light bulbs (LED lamps) come with different cap types, which determine their compatibility with various fittings.

Insulation coverable downlights are specially designed fittings that are either fitted with an insulation cover cap or use their own structure as a barrier.

They allow you to lay thermal insulation on top of the downlights. Cutting around thermal insulation isn't energy efficient as the warm air escapes through the downlight holes.

Downlights are available in 3 main types that include:

• Fixed
  Directs the angle of light directly downwards and offers no resistance to water. Usually IP20 rated.
  
  
• Adjustable
  Tilt-able, also known as gimbal downlights, provide you with the ability to adjust the direction of light. Some adjustable downlights are available with IP ratings which allows them to be installed in bathrooms.
  
  
• Bathroom (IP65)
  Water resistant for use in bathroom zones 1 & 2. Most integrated LED downlights are IP65 rated as standard making them a more universal option. With a fixed postion, they're not just limited to bathroom use.

Wattage is the unit used to measure the rate of energy transfer or power consumption in an electrical circuit or device.

The finish or colour of your product is an important decision. If possilbe, try matching your light fittings and switches & sockets with the same finish. Matt white is the most popular downlight finish.

If it fails during this period the manufacturer will come to site and fix it for you.

Each color temperature has its unique ambiance and use cases. When choosing LED lighting, it's important to consider the mood and functionality you want to achieve in each room or space. 

AC standards for alternating current and DC standards for direct current.

Mains voltage is 230V AC and has a tolerance of 10%, some products are 220V or 240V AC which means they can be classed as mains voltage.

DC voltages usually require an LED driver to convert the mains voltage AC into low voltage DC. Popular DC voltages are 12V or 24V DC.

IP (International or Ingress Protection) defines a products level of resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for dust and the second digit is for moisture.

An IP65 rating offers a high resistance to moisture and is popular rating for outdoor lighting and electrical enclosures.

IP65 is usually specified for bathroom downlights but according to the Building Regulations, IP44 provides adequate protection for zones 1 & 2.
