Specifications & Dimensions
Specifications Beam Angle SpecificationsA narrow beam angle of 25 degrees will provide a more focused and intense light. Ideal for illuminating specific objects like picture frames on a track lighting system.
A medium beam angle of 40 degrees will provide an even spread of light with a decent intensity. Ideal for smaller rooms like bathrooms.
A wider 60 degree beam can allow you to space downlights further apart, especially when you've got brighter LEDs. Wider downlight distances = fewer downlights which saves money especially in larger rooms like lounges.
120 Degrees Brand SpecificationsAurora Lighting CRI SpecificationsCRI stands for Colour Rendering Index. It is a measurement of how well a light source renders the true colour of an object compared to natural light.
Rated out of 100, with daylight scoring a perfect 100. A light with 90 CRI and above is classed as being high CRI, while 80 CRI is the standard rating for LED lighting.
80 Ra Cap Type Integrated LED Colour Temperature SpecificationsThe main 3 colour temperatures of LED lighting include:2700K - Extra warm whiteLike a halogen or incandescent, it has a warmer tone of light and offers a homely appearance. Ideal for living rooms. Some people find this 'too orangey'.3000K - Warm whiteA mid range white, colour tone. Not as orange as 2700K and not as harsh as 4000K. This is the most popular colour temperature.4000K - Cool white (AKA neutral white)Clearer, whiter and slightly brighter than the others. It can make a room feel cold and clinical. Used in the right environment it can make a room appear more modern. This is popular in bathrooms with white walls and is the go-to colour temperature choice for offices and supermarkets.Dimensions Located Below Specifications Table Dimmable No Downlight Type SpecificationsDownlights are available in 3 main types that include:
- Fixed
Directs the angle of light directly downwards and offers no resistance to water. Usually IP20 rated. - Adjustable
Tilt-able, also known as gimbal downlights, provide you with the ability to adjust the direction of light. Some adjustable downlights are available with IP ratings which allows them to be installed in bathrooms. - Bathroom (IP65)
Water resistant for use in bathroom zones 1 & 2. Most integrated LED downlights are IP65 rated as standard making them a more universal option. With a fixed postion, they're not just limited to bathroom use.
Fixed Finish SpecificationsThe finish or colour of your product is an important decision. If possilbe, try matching your light fittings and switches & sockets with the same finish. Matt white is the most popular downlight finish.
Matt White Fire Rated SpecificationsFire-rated downlights are recessed lighting fixtures designed to maintain the integrity of a ceiling's fire resistance rating by preventing the spread of fire through the openings created for the lights.
No GTiN 5055155403577 IP Rating SpecificationsIP (International or Ingress Protection) defines a products level of resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for dust and the second digit is for moisture.
An IP65 rating offers a high resistance to moisture and is popular rating for outdoor lighting and electrical enclosures.
IP65 is usually specified for bathroom downlights but according to the Building Regulations, IP44 provides adequate protection for zones 1 & 2.
IP44 Insulation Coverable SpecificationsInsulation coverable downlights are specially designed fittings that are either fitted with an insulation cover cap or use their own structure as a barrier.
They allow you to lay thermal insulation on top of the downlights. Cutting around thermal insulation isn't energy efficient as the warm air escapes through the downlight holes.
No Life Expectancy 40,000 Hours Lighting Technology LED Lumens 300 Lumens Product Type LED Downlight Sku EN-PL**/*0 Voltage SpecificationsAC standards for alternating current and DC standards for direct current.
Mains voltage is 230V AC and has a tolerance of 10%, some products are 220V or 240V AC which means they can be classed as mains voltage.
DC voltages usually require an LED driver to convert the mains voltage AC into low voltage DC. Popular DC voltages are 12V or 24V DC.
230V AC Warranty Specifications5 Years Wattage SpecificationsEach of the downlights has the same height which is 20mm. The recommended recess depth is at least 40mm due to the height of the spring clips.

Product Questions & Answers
I have some hispec 175mm slim profile lights. Had a couple fail within 6 months so I'm looking to replace them. The 175mm diameter is the outer overhang size. Is there an equivalent aurora?Question by: Stephen Fish on 28 Oct 2022, 09:35Based on the 175mm overall diameter, it would be the 12W, 6" size. This has a cut out of 157mm.
This link is for the 4000K version:

Can I use EN PL 18C/30 to replace it?
Or is the B version still available?Question by: John Norton on 30 Jan 2023, 16:18The C version has now replaced the B version. Its slightly brighter but otherwise the same specs.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 31 Jan 2023, 06:11Hello Chris,
I ordered the EN PL 18C/30 on 31 Jan 2023
On 18 February I received EN PL 18C/ 40.
The B version has 1100 lumens
The C version has 1890 lumens i.e. 72% brighter
This replacement must match other existing B version 3000K lights in my bathroom.
I can probably live with the extra lumens, but strange the update is so much brighter, is there a better lumens match to the B version?
As a last resort, can you replace what I have received with /30, as I ordered?
Kind Regards, John Norton.
Question by: John Norton on 17 Feb 2023, 10:34I have checked and there was a booking error here, I've got the correct one on order for you.
The new one is 1710lm which is just over 50% brighter. They have done this to significantly improve the output.
To get closer to the lumens of your original fitting, it would be a case of fitting the 12W version, however this is significantly smaller in diameter.Answer by: Mathew Smith (Admin) on 17 Feb 2023, 16:08 -
