  • Features

FuseBox surge protection metal consumer units with a 100A rated MS (Main Switch) incomer and T2 SPD (Surge Protection Device). Surge protection consumer units provide formidable circuit protection against surge and overload. When fitted with additional RCBOs (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overload Protection) as an outgoing device, you also get residual current protection.

Available in 7 frame sizes ranging from 7 to 47 useable ways. They require additional outgoing devices such as MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers) or RCBOs. RCBOs are available in Type AC and Type A versions. As these boards don't have an RCD (Residual Circuit Device) incomer, its better to use RCBOs as your outgoing devices, then each of your circuits is individually RCD protected.

We have two main types of RCBOs to use:

Type A RCBOs - The most cost effective choice. Available in a B type tripping curve which is mainly used for general domestic circuit protection. This has Type A protection; Type A RCBOs are used to detect AC (Alternating Current) and pulsating DC (Direct Current) components.

Mini RCBO - The most popular choice. Costing slightly more, they're more compact in size and look neater when fitted. Available in B and C type tripping curves, they're bidirectional which are required for solar lighting installations as the current can travel in both directions. These RCBOs have Type A and Type AC one one,  AC protection is used for general purpose on AC (Alternating Current) only circuits. Type A are used for DC (Direct Current) protection, these mini RCBOs provide both levels of protection and are widely regarded as the best RCBOs in the business.

Metal consumer units from FuseBox are constructed from steel and are 18th Edition compliant. Now available in large triple row sizes with up to 47 useable ways. SPD consumer units are available from stock and can be delivered on a free (for orders over £50) next working day with DPD Local.

    Set Descending Direction
Can these units be mounted on there side ?
Question by: David Wren on 5 May 2022, 14:37
FuseBox have said they don't recommend side mounting.

    What is the warranty

Who sells your product in N. Ireland
    Question by: Mark O'Sullivan on 17 Aug 2022, 16:28
The warranty is 1 year, but they never fail. FuseBox are a very reliable and popular brand.

We can deliver to N. Ireland and delivery is free on orders over £150 or £7 if below.

    Hi

I install several CUs per month. Yours looks a decent model and I can see a unique design feature that I particularly like, However, Type 2 SPDs are not permissible for TT Systems or supplies via overhead lines. This applies to a lot of housing stock. Such systems require Type 1 SPDs. Do you produce boards to accommodate Type 1 SPDs and what are the price ranges?

    Regards,

Question by: Robert Davies on 2 Aug 2023, 11:22
    Hi

Very good question, I've checked this with FuseBox and we 2 solutions:

You can install SPDCUKITT1 into an F2015M (15 way example with main switch)

    https://www.expertelectrical.co.uk/fusebox-combined-type-1-2-3-surge-protection-device-kit

    Main switch consumer units:
    https://www.expertelectrical.co.uk/fuse-box-main-switch-incomer-consumer-units-100a

As SPDUCKITT1 is 3 modules (2 for the type 1 SPD and 1 for the MCB), the main switch would need to be moved to the left, meaning the tail clamp will not line-up.

Therefore, all that is required is that the main switch needs to be moved to the LHS by 18mm, busbar shortened by 18mm, and tail clamp would need to be removed or a new hole drilled and taped to secure it.

Alternatively, although we do not offer consumer units fitted with Type 1 SPD as standard, we can provide these if required.

Please let us know if this is something you would like to order & I can request pricing for you.
