Advanced Circuit Protection
Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) Circuit Breakers
Arc fault detection devices (AFDDs) are a type of circuit breaker that can help to prevent electrical fires. AFDDs work by detecting arcs, which are small electrical currents that can occur when two conductors come into contact with each other. When an arc is detected, the AFDD will trip the circuit and shut off the power.
AFDDs are especially effective at preventing fires caused by arc faults, which are the leading cause of electrical fires in homes. In fact, studies have shown that AFDDs can reduce the risk of electrical fires by up to 80%.
If you are considering upgrading your electrical consumer unit, you may want to consider installing AFDDs instead of RCBOs or MCBs.
Here are some of the benefits of using AFDD circuit breakers:
- They can help to prevent electrical fires.
- They are easy to install.
- They are compatible with most existing electrical systems.
- They are relatively inexpensive.
If you are concerned about the safety of your electrical system, AFDD circuit breakers are a good way to reduce the risk of electrical fires.
